Application for pre-licensure endorsement endorsement is required before you begin your student teaching experience. This step requires a final background check along with the cpmletion of all advanced endorsements. You must also submit you portfolio for the review of reflective papersand artifacts.

Preliminary entry to teacher education is your formal application to enroll in the undergrade School of Education program as soon as you are eligible in order to recieve proper advising and timely notice of program requirements and developments. This step requires a background check and a reflective paper.

Application to aspiring professional transition is required to take 300 level courses and for full admission to teacher education. In support of the commitment to developing reflective practitioners for effective schools, this transition requires a portfolio record of various initial endorsements based on Wisconsin Teacher Standards PRAXIS I and copies of reflective papers and other artifacts which you prepare as you pass throught the program.

Application to professional transition is required to take methods courses and for admission to student teaching. This step includes PRAXIS II testing and content assessments as well as other advance assessments. A portfolio record of various advances endorsements and copies of reflective papers and other artifacts are required.

Application to licensure endorsements is required for program completion and recommendation for licensure to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Assessment activities related to this transition will occur during the final student teaching or internship semester. This transition step requires a portfolio record of all endorsements, copies of reflective papers, initial educator development statement, and other artifacts which you prepare as you pass through the program.

There are four transition points of admission to teacher education at Edgewood College.

These steps are designed to ensure that you complete all requirements of the Education programs in a timely and organized fashion.
